Hi Moonki,

Thanks very much for taking the time to test this. I'll fix the CMake file for the plugin and will let you know when a fix is available. Which version of VisualStudio do you have? (also Express vs. Professional)?

Thanks again and all the best,
-Ayman

Subject: Re: [Opensim-testers] OpenSim 2.2.0 Release candidate is available for testing

Hi, Ayman.

From your news, I did a few tests of new OpenSim 2.2 RC version.

Install successfully on Windows7 machine(32bit) -> Done.
Build and run APIExample Main VC8 Windows7(32bit) -> Done.(I tested OptimizationExample_Arm26 example)
Build and install Plugin example with VC8 Windows7 -> Failed.

In the C:\OpenSim2.2\sdk\examples\plugin\CMakeLists.txt file, there is a line like this:
SET(OPENSIM_INSTALL_DIR "C:/OpenSim 2.2/" CACHE PATH "Top-level directory of OpenSim install")

But when I was installing this OpenSim 2.2 RC version, the name of the installation folder was 'C:/OpenSim2.2/'.
So the blank in the folder name should be removed.
But even when I changed this CMAKE settings, I could not succeed to build this plugin example.

I hope my these tests may help to you.

Best regards,
Moonki

Dear All,

A release candidate of OpenSim 2.2. has been placed on the downloads page of OpenSim under the package name "OpenSim Release Betas", please give it a spin and send your findings to this list. As of now the release is available on Windows (and built with VisualStudio 8 Professional & VisualStudio 9 Express). Please use the download marked as beta 5. Updated linux and MAC builds of the OpenSim libraries will be available next week. For specific testing activities, I created a list of tasks, available at

Feel free to pick any subset of these and let us know so that the effort is not duplicated. Just installing the application, and trying the APIExample, plugin or trying to continue your regular use of OpenSim and reporting any issues would be a great help.

The release contains primarily bug fixes and a few changes to the GUI. The User Guide has been updated accordingly.

Thanks all for your time & I sure look forward to your feedback.
