Dissemination Update

Week of February 22, 2009

 

 

OpenMM:

* Videos and slides from workshop posted

* Only ~1/3 of participants have responded to survey to-date.  Reminder
email had been sent out this past Monday.

* Bioinform story on-line

--http://www.genomeweb.com/informatics/stanford-researchers-tap-gpus-take-
protein-molecular-dynamics-desktop

--worked with journalist to clarify text on Simbios

 

* To be done next week:

-- Put together example file for users to use to test OpenMM installation
(eventually put up as part of a publication project)

-- Compile survey results from last workshop

-- Identify date for next workshop

 

 

OpenSim:

* Posted abstract and bio for Scott's talk on OpenSim for IMAG/MSM
teleconference

* Compiled survey results from January OpenSim Jamboree 

* Began setting up a gallery of OpenSim examples via simtk.org - issues
with showing movies on wiki

 

*To be done next week:

       --Finish framework for OpenSim gallery of examples

 

RNA Workshop:

                * Submitted RNA Society workshop proposal  (only 1.25 hour
time slot so no hands-on)

 

                *To be done next week:

                      --Select date for full hands-on workshop  (proposed:
Jun 19 or 26 at Stanford)

                      --Identify tasks to be completed for workshop

 

Collaboration with the Physiome project:

* Teleconference with Veli Stroetmann, who's managing dissemination for
VPHOP

 

* To be done next week:

                                --Review collaboration proposal that was
sent out

 

BCR:

                * Final edits for Simbios News story on NAST

                * Began testing NAST to ensure it's easy to use

 

* To be done next week:

                --Update NAST project and documentation as needed to
improve useability

                                --Editing, as needed

 

Simbios website:

                * Began incorporating a Google calendar of events
(http://simbios.stanford.edu/EventsOfInterest/calendar.htm - look at
Agenda view, which will eventually be default)

                * Updated list of events

 

*To be done next week:

                                --Complete Google calendar and update with
latest events

                                --Update the Peoples page

 

Cross-NCBC activities:

                *Established wiki for cross-NCBC dissemination (set up as
a simtk.org project)

                *Conversation with Aaron about what's needed to be done
for calendar

 

                *To be done next week:

--Follow up on NCBO feedback for wiki and circulate to other NCBCs

                                --Work with Aaron on final changes to
cross-NCBC calendar, follow up with other NCBCs to update their calendars,
and hopefully have it go live at the end of next week

                                --Work with Zohara on mailing list
associated with calendar
