Multiscale Computational Models for Optogenetic Control of Cardiac
Function

Biophysical Journal, Sept 2011, 101(6):1326-1334

Stanford researchers have engineered cardiac cells that can be paced by
light. To demonstrate the potential of this new technology, Simbios
faculty Ellen Kuhl developed a light-sensitive cardiac cell model that can
be used within a 3-D finite-element model of the heart. See a video and

OpenMM <http://simtk.org/home/openmm> enables rapid development and rapid
execution of new molecular dynamics methods. Use it to quickly develop
new sampling algorithms and force fields or integrate it into your own
code for improved performance on GPUs. Version 3.1.1 includes support for
the AMOEBA polarizable force field and parallelization across multiple
GPUs, plus more.
