[Nast-news] unable to install NAST on ubuntu (64bit)

Hi,

I recently tried to install NAST on my laptop, which runs on 64-bit
ubuntu 8.04 but to no avail. The error message I received during the
installation process (after executing the command: python setup.py
build) is as follows:

g++ -pthread -shared -Wl,-O1 -Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions
build/temp.linux-x86_64-2.5/src/swig_openmm/openmm_wrap.o -Llib/linux
-lOpenMM_static -o build/lib.linux-x86_64-2.5/simtk/_openmm.so
/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible lib/linux/libOpenMM_static.so when
searching for -lOpenMM_static
/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible lib/linux/libOpenMM_static.a when
searching for -lOpenMM_static
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lOpenMM_static
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
error: command 'g++' failed with exit status 1

Can anyone tell me how to get it to work? Many thanks.
