Hello list,

As many of you may know, the Multiscale Modeling Consortium and the
Interagency Modeling and Analysis Group of the NIH, which is the parent
organization for this working group, has been undergoing a restructuring of
the past year. One of consequences of that restructuring is a reassessment
of the various working groups previously established. Bruce Lee and myself
(Gary An) were selected to head the Population Working Group, and we have
had a series discussions with members of the steering committee regarding
the direction of this working group moving forward. The result of those
discussions was an agreement to put this working group on hold for the
foreseeable future while we consider how it fits in with the wider MSM
community (with direction from the Steering Committee) and how to be more
responsive to NIH priorities and initiatives. We anticipate having a plan
to present at the MSM Annual Meeting in March. In the meantime, the content
of this mailing list will be archived but it will no longer be active. We
want to thank you all for your participation, and particular, special
thanks to Jacob Barhak for his efforts and energy in service of this Group.

Sincerely,
Gary An and Bruce Lee
