Thanks John of taking the initiative.

I am a computational analyst who develops robust parameter estimation method with given model (ODE) constraints. I am usually missing good application (particularly in population modeling) and data to show efficiency of the methods.

Best,

MC

It's what makes a "working group" work and in this case is a good sign the there may be a synthetic population modeling community forming. Anyone else looking for collaborators or having other ideas to share or issue to raise? Let's hear what you think.

In essence, I'd like to "reverse engineer" population datasets based on available risk information and multivariable associations between risk factors. Point is to see whether we understand how populations come to look like they do in terms of risk factor distribution. Goal is to simulate public health interventions by risk factor elimination. My particular area of interest is disorders of the brain and retina in preterm newborns.
